Conserving and renovating existing residences to reduce national energy consumption.

Comparing embodied energy lost in demolition of existing housing with energy savings from agressive replacement by renovation and new construction.

Identifying ways to avoid problems from aggressive conservation, particularly in renovating existing construction.

Evaluating alternate fuel strategies, with an emphasis on geothermal.
