We are seeking a talented Project Architect to join our team who will contribute to the design and development of projects across institutional, commercial, and residential sectors. As a key member of our collaborative team, the Project Architect will play a pivotal role in shaping the future of sustainable architecture while upholding our firm's commitment to innovation, excellence, and environmental stewardship. Responsibilities and Expectations:
Work collaboratively on a range of architectural design projects
A keen interest in design and a willingness to share ideas
Meet with clients and stakeholders to discuss designs in conjunction with Project Managers and Partners
Draft building plans for commercial, institutional, and residential construction projects
Assist with preparation of budgets, material documents, and specification lists for client approval
Conduct QA/QC reviews
Act as an intermediary between the client and the construction team
Visit job sites regularly to ensure construction adheres to design intent
Provide progress reports to Project Managers
Learn from peers and managers within the OPAL team
Requirements:
Professional degree in Architecture (BArch or MArch 1 minimum); licensure not required but a plus
Additional sustainability or technical accreditation a plus
Proficiency and understanding in architectural Construction Documents required
4-7 years of experience
Proficiency in Revit, BIM, and industry-standard rendering software/s
Proficiency in Adobe InDesign and Adobe Illustrator a plus
Proficiency in Apple Keynote a plus
Understanding of building codes, zoning, and planning regulations
Familiarity with sustainable building practices and ecological principles; understanding of Passive House principles and Life Cycle Assessment a plus
